Samuel Antwi vs Jack McGann ordered for British title

The British Boxing Board of Control have announced that Samuel Antwi vs Jack McGann has been ordered for the Super Welterweight title. The bout is being promoted by Nisse Sauerland and will take place on 01 March 2024 at The Troxy in London.

Samuel Antwi is coming off a potential KO of the year when he defeated Mason Cartwright live on Channel Five. Antwi captured his British title with a brutal KO in the final round.

Jack McGann was afforded the prestigious slot on the undercard of Fury vs Ngannou, defeating Alcibiade Duran, the son of Roberto Duran. The bout was unfortunately not televised.

The winner of Antwi vs McGann will waive a grace period and face Sam Gilley, the Commonwealth champion.

Broadcasting for the bout is unconfirmed, but it seems likely this will appear on Channel Five in the usual Friday night slot. The Sauerland brothers have deals in place to broadcast UK cards with Channel Five, but they have also promoted two Josh Kelly cards on DAZN. Kalle Sauerland also promotes Misfits Boxing, which appears on DAZN.

There’s been no news of any other professional UK boxing cards from the Sauerland brothers. The last cards to air were in December featuring Nathan Gorman vs Bogdan Myronets on Channel Five, followed by Josh Kelly vs Placido Ramirez two weeks later.

Lee McGregor vs Isaac Lowe was expected for around February, but the fighters have confirmed those plans have been scrapped.
