Boxing is return to Glasgow next April as Willie Limond vs Joe Laws is set to headline at the Emirates Arena promoted by St Andrews Sporting Club.
Willie Limond (42-6) is coming off a defeat to Ricky Burns in 2023 that was potentially a retirement bout. Limond lost to fellow Scot Ricky Burns in round 8 via TKO, and neither fighter was expected to continue following their career. Limond was facing his first loss since 2016, and both fighters had a desire to retire in Scotland.
Limond’s next opponent is Joe Laws. Laws (14-2) recently appeared on Sky Sports as a late-notice replacement to face Michael Hennessy Jr, scoring an upset victory and retiring the son of famed promoter Mick Hennessy. The ‘Benwell Bomber’ will expect a hostile atmosphere fighting in Limond’s hometown of Glasgow.
Willie Limond vs Joe Laws is set for 10 rounds as the headline bout for a Glasgow boxing card on 12 April 2024. Jake Limond, Tyler Jolly and Sean Lazzerini are set for the undercard of the show at the Emirates Arena.
