Devin Haney vs Ryan Garcia Negotiations Continue

Devin Haney vs Ryan Garcia is continuing to be negotiated according to the fighters social media pages. Both Haney and Garcia took to social media earlier today and Garcia has confirmed he is now seeking the contest.

Garcia previously expressed his desire to face Devin Haney, only to make a quick u-turn and seek a bout against Super Lightweight champion Rolly Romero. Romero has opted to face Isaac ‘Pitbull’ Cruz, leaving Garcia to reconsider his options.

Devin Haney began the social media exchange by criticising Golden Boy and Ryan Garcia promoter Oscar De La Hoya’s offer. Haney wrote:

Oscar come with a real offer.. or quit wasting my time
@RyanGarcia talk to your boy @OscarDeLaHoya

Ryan Garcia responded to Devin Haney, confirming his intention to make a deal work.

Things are moving forward @Realdevinhaney
Just hit oscar he will talk to bill later on today. We will get this done

A bout between Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia would see the first defence of Haney’s newly won WBC Super Lightweight title. Haney captured the belt by outclassing Regis Prograis and comprehensively beating the champion. Garcia bounced back from a defeat to Gervonta Tank Davis with a KO victory over Oscar Duarte.

Devin Haney is currently a free agent, but Matchroom Boxing have matching rights on his next fight. Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn has confirmed his desire to put ‘The Dream’ Haney vs Garcia on as his next bout.
