British Super Lightweight Ohara Davies has taken to X/Twitter to criticise and insult Rolly Romero, after Rolly was called out by Ryan Garcia.
Ryan Garcia was victorious over the weekend when he defeated Oscar Duarte via KO in round 8. In the aftermath of the bout, Garcia took to X to call out current WBA World Super Lightweight champion ‘Rolly’ Romero.
Ohara Davies, the current WBA number 1 ranked Super Lightweight, has taken news of a possible bout grimly.
Davies had already secured a position as the mandatory challenger to Rolly Romero, until a Romero injury delayed the bout. The WBA ordered Davies vs Barroso for the status as ‘interim’ WBA champion, with the winner due to face Romero.
Davies was due to face Barroso on the undercard of Garcia vs Duarte, only for the bout to be delayed due to Ohara Davies’ visa problems.
Ryan Garcia vs Rolly Romero is a financially more attractive bout which would likely be contested above the 140 lbs weight limit, at a catchweight or Welterweight, leaving Rolly Romero to vacate his WBA crown.

Ohara Davies vs Barroso is due on the undercard of Vergil Ortiz Jr.’s next bout, set for 06 January 2024.
