Sam Noakes has finally received an opponent for his headline fight on TNT Sports later this month. Noakes will challenge Yvan Mendy for the vacant EBU European title. Noakes vs Mendy is set for 20th April 2024 from York Hall.
Knockout specialist Sam Noakes (13-0) last competed on the undercard of Hamzah Sheeraz vs Liam Williams, where he added a British and WBO International titles to his Commonwealth and WBC Silver Lightweight crowns.
The KO specialist will face the immovable object in former EBU champion Yvan Mendy (48-6-1). Mendy has never been stopped in his 55 contests.
The Lion Mendy has a wealth of experience and last competed in the UK when he unsuccessfully challenging Denis Berinchyk, losing his EBU title in the process.
Mendy also fought twice against Luke Campbell, winning a Split Decision in 2015 at the 02 Arena, following by a loss in the rematch at Wembley Arena 3 years later.
Also on the card, Henry Turner vs Bradley Townsend will fight for the WBC Silver Super Lightweight title. Andrew Cain also returns against Darwing Martinez.
