Nathan Heaney vs Brad Pauls Preview and Undercard

Frank Warren’s Queensberry Promotions have announced their biggest UK card of the year called The Magnificent Seven, featuring Nathan Heaney vs Brad Pauls and a range of other title bouts.

The Magnificent Seven Ride Again is in reference to last years Magnificent Seven Show, which saw Nathan Heaney crowned British champion after defeating Denzel Bentley. Nick Ball defeated Isaac Dogboe and Hannah Rankin failed to capture a world title on the undercard.

The 2024 show includes more title bouts an arguably bigger names than the show last year. There’s 7 title bouts, Joe Joyce’s return and a version of the world title up for grabs.

Nathan Heaney vs Brad Pauls

Nathan Heaney vs Brad Pauls Magnificent Seven

Stoke’s Nathan Heaney (18-0) is making the first defence of his British title. The unbeaten Middleweight captured his championship when he defeated Denzel Bentley via Majority Decision. Heaney was an underdog against Bentley at the Magnificent Seven 2023 show but he secured an upset roared on by a raucous crowd.

Nathan Heaney has aspirations of holding a fight at the Britannia Stadium in Stoke. He must navigate his way past Pauls to have any prospect of a stadium fight. The Middleweight division does contain Brit Chris Eubank Jr, and a potential meeting between the two in the future could be enough to fill the Britannia.

Nathan Heaney will face English champion Brad Pauls (18-1). Pauls captured his title at York Hall last year when he defeated Mitchell Frearson in the eighth round via TKO. Pauls sole blemish came when he was defeated by Tyler Denny in February 2023 at Wembley Arena.

Joe Joyce vs Kash Ali

British Olympic Heavyweight Joe Joyce returns to the ring after back-to-back losses against Zhilei Zhang. Joyce contemplated retirement as he lost his WBO Interim Heavyweight title, which entitled him to a shot at Oleksandr Usyk at a later date. With low mileage on the clock and Saudi paydays within touching distance, Joyce has decided to fight on. His comeback back is a domestic clash with Kash Ali.

Kash Ali returned to TV screens in 2023 when he was soundly beaten by Bogdan Myronets on Channel 5. Kash Ali gassed as the rounds drew on and his opponent capitalised. Myronets was able to do the same again to Nathan Gorman later in the year. Kash Ali is also famous for biting David Price, bringing about the only other defeat of his career. Ali currently holds a number 97 ranking with the IBO.

Sol Dacres vs David Adeleye

There’s a second heavyweight clash as Solomon Dacres defends his English Heavyweight title against David Adeleye. Adeleye was defeated on the undercard of Fury vs Ngannou by Fabio Wardley, and is currently suspended following his brawl with Wardley at an earlier press conference. Adeleye remains on the card but could be withdrawn if the BBBofC decide to sanction him. He did not appear at the press conference.

Rest of the card

Liam Davies (15-0) puts his unbeaten record on the line as he chases an IBO World title vs Erik Robles (15-1). Davies has already held English, British, European and Continental Super Bantamweight titles, and this would be the biggest championship of his career.

Dennis McCann returns from his draw against Ionut Baluta to challenge Brad Strand. There was a little bit of needle at the press conference when the show was announced, and this might be a sleeper bout on a stacked card.

Zach Parker continues his rebuild from breaking his hand against John Ryder as he faces Tyron Zeuge. Parker had been in line to face Saul Canelo Alvarez had he defeated John Ryder as expected, but retired from the contest with a broken hand. He has since picked up a victory over Khalid Graidia.

Eithan James vs Owen Cooper rounds off the card. Both fighters enter unbeaten with two titles on the line.

Pierce O’Leary vs Hovhannes Martirosyan was also added to the bill.
