Sam Noakes vs Carlos Perez

This was a 10 round bout contested for the WBC International Silver Lightweight title.

Perez beat the count, but looked dazed and bloodied. Perez was on the ground a second time shortly after, and received a count from the referee, despite it appearing it be after effects of the earlier knockdown.

Perez was knocked down a third and fourth time in round 4, showing minimal defence and repeatedly leaving himself wide open, and the referee finally waved it off.

Gavin Gwynne vs Emiliano Marsili

This 12 round bout was contested for the EBU European Lightweight title.

The unknown mystery man Marsili started strong, buzzing Gwynne with a sweeping punch in the opening round. Marsili adopted unusual movement but Gwynne was having greater success at pinning him onto the ropes, and Gwynne clearly took the second round.

Gavin Gwynne vs Emiliano Marsili

Marsili continued with his wily movement and Gwynne was left chasing him round after round.

Marsili, aged 47, was making his outsider status look silly as he was able to drift in and out of range landing shots, whereas Gwynne continued trying and failing to back Marsili up.

Gavin Gwynne vs Emiliano Marsili

The engine of Marsili was always going to be a question mark as he exerted far more energy than Gwynne.

With Marsili ahead and the contest heating up, Marsili retired in the corner with a visible shoulder injury. Marsili’s right shoulder looked dislocated, and he retired despite leading on two of the judges scorecards.
