Oscar De La Hoya’s Golden Boy promotions announced their fourth card of 2024 featuring Zepeda vs Hughes. Unbeaten knockout specialist William Zepeda (29-0) faces former IBO World champion Maxi Hughes in an Eliminator for the World Lightweight title.
Golden Boy already had two cards in January, with a further fight night planned for February. The year began with Golden Boy hosting the first major card of 2024, with Ortiz vs Lawson on 06 January. This weekend we have Munguia vs Ryder, which could prove to be the best fight in January. February’s Fight Night show sees the return of Joseph Diaz Jr.
Golden Boy’s fourth event of the year will see William Zepeda vs Maxi Hughes in an eliminator for the WBA and IBF Lightweight titles. Maxi Hughes is coming off a close Majority Decision loss to George Kambosos, whereas William Zepeda is unbeaten. Zepeda picked up two KO victories in 2023, taking his record to 29 victories 25 knockouts.
The event is co-promoted with DiBella Entertainment, and is scheduled for Saturday 16 March 2024. Zepeda vs Hughes is being held live from The Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas and broadcast on DAZN.
