Charlie Edwards vs Georges Ory headlines Wasserman Boxing’s show at York Hall in April. Don’t call it a Comeback is set to air live on Channel Five and also features Lerrone Richards in action.
Wasserman Boxing return with a card on Channel Five for the second time in 2024. The promotion previously hosted Abass Baraou vs Sam Eggington in March for the EBU European championship. Baraou emerged as victor against Eggington in an entertaining scrap. You can read more on that here.
Charlie Edwards vs Georges Ory
Charlie Edwards (18-1) is seeking further activity in 2024 as he seeks to put himself back into World title contention. Edwards lone loss came for the IBF World title against John Casimero, but he also had a controversial No Contest in 2019 against Julio Cesar Martinez. Edwards was knocked down in third round but was hit on the floor, resulting in the bout was being waved off.
Charlie Edwards hasn’t been busy since fighting Martinez. He fought once in 2020, once in 2021 and a further time in 2023. His last action was in July 2023 when he went six rounds against journeyman Darwing Martinez.
Frenchman Georges Ory (17-3-1) faces Charlie Edwards, and is the strongest opponent Edwards has had since 2019. Ory is a former IBO World Super Flyweight champion and also holds the WBC French Bantamweight championship. Ory arrives on a 6-fight winstreak as is unbeaten since 2019 when he lost via TKO due to an eye injury.

Unbeaten Super Middleweight Lerrone Richards (18-0) will face Steed Woodall (18-2-1) with a vacant WBC championship on the line. Richards is the former IBO World Super Middleweight champion but has been frustrating inactive since 2021, competing twice against journeyman. Steed Woodall will be his toughest contest on paper, although Woodall is coming off a defeat to Padraig McCrory.
Jordan Dujon and Kingsley Egbunike collide for the vacant Southern Area Super Welterweight title.
