Charlie Edwards confirms Wasserman Boxing contract length

Former WBC World champion Charlie Edwards spoke to talkSPORT in anticipation of his bout on April 12. Edwards spoke about a range of subjects including his new contract with Wasserman Boxing, his intentions for 2024 and whether he will fight his brother Sunny Edwards. Here are the highlights from the talkSPORT interview.

31-year old Charlie Edwards (18-1) confirmed during the interview he has a 4 fight agreement with Wasserman Boxing. The contract has to be completed between 12-16 months so Edwards will finally have the further activity he has been seeking.

Spencer Oliver asked Charlie Edwards about his ambitions over the next 12 months. The former WBC World champion confirmed he was targeting a World championship within the next year. Victory over Georges Ory next month will grant him the WBC Silver International Bantamweight title which is currently vacant.

Charlie Edwards was also asked about a potential bout against his brother Sunny Edwards. Charlie confirmed it was never going to materialise and it was more of a strategy to keep eyeballs on him and his brother.
