Chamberlain vs Ramlavs Fight Night Live Results

Queensberry Promotions hosted a Fight Night Live on TNT Sports on Friday 24 November 2023, headlined by Chamberlain vs Ramlavs. The main event and chief support were both title bouts; Chamberlain vs Ramlavs and Henry Turner vs Billy Allington.

Ben Fail vs Nikola Stoyanov

This opened the TNT Sports broadcast. Ben Fail controlled the entire contest, knocking down Stoyanov in round 2. Stoyanov beat the count, but was put under further pressure and the referee waved it off.

Charlie Hickford vs Jake Pollard

Hickford had a number of fans attending for his debut. Hickford had too much speed and power for his opponent, and knocked Pollard down in the second round. Pollard had some damage to his eye but continued on. In the fourth and final round, Pollard resorted to holding and making the figh ugly as he survived as he managed to avoid a KO defeat. Round 4 could have been a 10-8 to Hickford.

Billy Adams vs Jahfieus Faure

Debutant Adams dominated a four round contest picking up a one-sided points decision.

Khalid Ali vs Fernando Mosquera

Ali dominated Mosquera over six rounds but wasn’t able to up the pace and push for a stoppage.

Liam Williams vs Florin Cardos

This bout was described as a rust-remover for Liam Williams. The bout went under two minutes as a spiteful Williams dropped the journeyman Florin Cardos with a right hand. Cardos beat the count but the fight was waved off.

Liam Williams now awaits the recovery of Hamzah Sheeraz, as a bout between the pair was planned for next week until Sheeraz withdrew through injury.

Post fight, Williams spoke of facing Sheeraz in February or March of 2024.

Henry Turner vs Billy Allington

This was contested for the WBC International Silver Super Lightweight Championship.

Henry Turner controlled the majority of the 10 round contest by activity alone. Allington was reluctant to let his hands go, staying cautious and often responding to Turner’s combinations with single counter punches. The pace was tepid between the pair and little was landing clean from either fighter as the rounds ticked on. Allington tried to charge forward in the latter half of the bout and picked up some rounds in the process.

Mark Chamberlain vs Artjoms Ramlavs

This was contested for the IBF European Lightweight Championship.

Chamberlain started strong and the bout looked to be a walkover after the first few minutes. Ramlavs grew into the contest though and started meeting fire with fire against Chamberlain, and had some success. Chamberlain found some rhythm after the fifth round, and Chamberlain threatened to finish the bout in the sixth round as he rattled his Latvian opponent.

Ramlavs was left bleeding from the nose at the end of the sixth round, and Chamberlain piled on even more pressure in the seventh. A left hand saw Chamberlain cut badly above his eye, but this was ruled a clash of heads by the referee. The cut re-energised Ramlavs who finished the seventh round in stronger fashion. Chamberlain took the eighth round but both men threw everything into the round.

The doctor checked the eye of Chamberlain before the start of the ninth round, and allowed him to continue. Ramlavs continued his dogged approach continued with Chamberlain responded using his forearm to push in the clinch, and received a final wanring from the referee. Chamberlain’s cut poured heavily and left him with a crimson mask, but he rallied towards the end of the round.

Ramlavs threw everything at Chamberlain in the tenth and final round, but Chamberlain boxed smart and kept catching his opponent. Ramlavs was knocked down in the final round, and the referee waved the count.
