Premier Boxing Champions have confirmed Saul Canelo Alvarez will face Jaime Munguia. Canelo vs Munguia will be broadcast live on DAZN PPV before Cinco De Mayo on 04 May 2024.
Undisputed World Super Middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez (60-2-2) will face fellow Mexican Jaime Munguia (43-0), after his initial plan to face Jermall Charlo fell through. After Canelo vs Jermell Charlo produced a dull contest, there was little appetite for Canelo to face a second Charlo.
Canelo will be facing unbeaten WBC Silver Super Middleweight champion Jaime Munguia. Munguia is coming off a comprehensive victory over John Ryder, where he knocked down the Brit multiple times before securing a TKO victory. Canelo had gone the full 12 round distance against John Ryder, and Jaime Munguia’s destruction of The Guerrilla added further interest to a Canelo vs Munguia bout.
Saul Canelo Alvarez vs Jaime Munguia will air on DAZN PPV. It was thought Canelo’s next fight would air on Amazon. Following Canelo’s move to Premier Boxing Champions, PBC made a deal to air their fights through Amazon Prime after their previous broadcasters Showtime stopped broadcasting boxing.
Canelo vs Munguia is set for 04 May 2024 before Cinco De Mayo.
