GBM Sports held their second boxing show of 2024 in Coventry. The show, dubbed Icebreaker, featured Danny Quartermaine vs Alex Rat for the vacant IBF European championship. Here are the Danny Quartermaine vs Alex Rat results for the full card.

Bradley Goldsmith vs Vasif Mamedov
Bradley Goldsmith (9-0) picked up a TKO over journeyman Vasif Mamedov at the end of round 3. This closed the show after Quartermaine vs Rat.
Danny Quartermaine vs Alex Rat
Danny Quartermaine (10-0) defeated Romanian Alex Rat (17-6-2) in round 5 to capture his IBF Super Featherweight championship. Rat was left bleeding and badly battered when his corner withdrew him at the start of round 5.
Quartermaine was firmly in control from the start and Rat was determined but outgunned. Danny Quartermaine has now captured his first career championship.
Scott Melvin vs Brayan Mairena
Brayan Mairena (15-40-1) stepped in after Ameen Khalid (7-0-1) withdrew on fight week. The fight was initially set for the Midlands Area Lightweight title.
Scott Melvin (8-1) controlled the entire contested and picked up a Points Decision victory 60-54 over 6 rounds.
River Wilson-Bent vs SA Smith
This was a disaster for River Wilson-Bent. In a bout hyped as do or die, Wilson-Bent did neither and secured a generous draw against unbeaten SA Smith.
River Wilson-Bent (15-4-1) stepped into the 8-round contest against a relative rookie in SA Smith (2-0). Wilson-Bent was returning from defeat to Ryan Kelly, and started the fighting confidently, thoroughly outboxing SA Smith. Smith wouldn’t go away though, and continued to fire back at Wilson-Bent. SA Smith had the better second half of the fight, pressuring Wilson-Bent and provng more accurate.
The referee gave a Draw at the end of 8 rounds.
Nyall Berry vs Hector Delores
Nyall Berry (9-0) picked up a Points Decision victory 78-74.
Ali Meesam vs Lee Hallett
Ali Meesam (debut) was lucky to escape with a 4 rounds Points Decsion over experienced journeyman Lee Hallett (1-73-4). Hallett did enough to win the contest but was Meesam was given the nod by the referee.
Lee Hallett was also unlucky not to be awarded a victory last month when he competed for Top Tier Boxing.
Roha Hudson vs Ester Konecna
Roha Hudson lost her debut to Czach journeywoman Ester Konecna (3-26-2). Konecna picked up the victory 39-37 over 4 rounds, and was unlucky not to be credited with every round.
Todd Tompkins vs Steve Davies
Tood Tompkins was victorious in his debut. Tompkins fought 4 rounds against Steve Davies (0-12) and picked up a Points Decision.
