Benavidez vs Andrade headlines a four bout card from Showtime PPV on Saturday 25th November 2023. The card is being held in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
Both David Benavidez (27-0) and Demetrius Andrade (32-0) enter unbeaten. Andrade is a former WBO Middleweight champion, whilst Benavidez has held the WBC Super Middleweight crown. Benavidez enters the favourite, having been more active recently against better opposition than Andrade. Andrade returned from a lay-off earlier this year, and this will be his second bout of 2023.
The IBF World Super Lightweight champion is being contested on the undercard in the chief support bout between Matis vs Ergashev. Matias is defending his crown for the first time following victory over Ponce back in February 2023.
The WBA World Super Featherweight title is also up for grabs in Garcia vs Roach. Hector Luis Garcia returns to the ring following his loss to Gervonta Davis earlier in the year, defending against inactive Lamont Roach. Roach last fought in July 2022, and his only world championship experience is a loss to Jamel Herring in 2019.
The final bout of the card sees long, long awaited return of Jermall Charlo to the ring. The WBC Middleweight champion has been inactive for close to two and a half years, but returns to the ring in a non-title bout. Charlo vs Benavidez Jr is a specially sanctioned 10 round non-title contest, presumably to help Charlo get ready for an eventual title defence.
