The IBF Super Lightweight world title heads to Puerto Rico as Subriel Matias defends in his homeland for the first time. The new Matchroom signee faces off against fellow Matchroom fighter Liam Paro. Subriel Matias vs Liam Paro will headline the event on DAZN.

Subriel Matias (20-1) was recently added to the Matchroom roster, ending his long-standing association with Premier Boxing Champions. Before leaving PBC he had a successful 2023, beginning the year by capturing his IBF Super Lightweight championship. Matias captured the vacant title by defeating undefeated Jeremias Ponce when he retired at the end of round 5.

Matias dished out more of the same when he faced undefeated Shohjahon Ergashev in Las Vegas. Matias stopped his opponent, forcing a stoppage before the end of round 6.

Liam Paro (24-0) enters the contest with an unblemished record and picked up a big win last time out. Paro fought against Montana Love, knocking down the American twice before securing a stoppage victory. The Australian was held the WBO Global title since 2019 and challenges for World honours for the first time.


The card takes place on Saturday 15 June 2024. The show begins on Sunday in the UK.
