Gervonta Davis vs Frank Martin Preview and Undercard

Premier Boxing Champions return to Prime Video with a Double Header live on PPV. In the main event Gervonta Davis vs Frank Martin, with Benavidez vs Gvozdyk serving as the chief support.

Gervonta Davis vs Frank Martin

Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis (29-0) will return from over a year of inactivity when he faces Frank Martin (18-0). Davis secured a TKO victory over Ryan Garcia back in April 2023 but has failed to compete since then.

Tank has held the WBA championship since 2019 when he became a two-weight World champion. During his reign he has knocked out the likes of Rolly Romero, Mario Barrios, Leo Santa Cruz as well as beating Isaac Cruz via UD.

Frank Martin enters as a massive underdog despite being unbeaten. Martin fought once last year when he narrowly defeated Artem Harutyunyan, taking a knee in the final round but securing a win on the scorecards. Martin was more active in 2022 when he picked up consecutive KO’s following by a wide Unanimous Decision win over Michel Rivera.

David Benavidez vs Oleksandr Gvozdyk

David Benavidez (28-0) moves up in weight to Light Heavyweight as he challenges Oleksandr Gvozdyk (20-1) for the vacant WBC Interim title. Benavidez has long-held the status of WBC Interim Super Middleweight champion, but he has been unable to secure a bout against the champion, Canelo Alvarez. Benavidez moves up in weight with a potential bout against Artur Beterbiev in Saudi Arabia in the pipeline, although that depends on victory here over Gvozdyk.

The Monster Bandera Roja picked up 2 victories in 2023. Benavidez broke down Caleb Plant picking up a Unanimous Decision, and followed that up with the destruction of Demetrius Andrade over 6 rounds.

Ukranian Oleksandr Gvozdyk is a former WBC Light Heavyweight champion, losing the title in a unification against Artur Beterbiev. Since the loss in 2019 the Olympic Bronze medallist Gvozdyk took a spell out of the ring, returning in 2023. He picked up three victories last year including a TKO over Ricards Bolotniks and KO over Isaac Rodrigues.
