Sheeraz vs Williams is being held at the Copper Box Arena by Queensberry Promotions and broadcast live on TNT Sports. The event takes place on Saturday 10 February 2024.
This is Queensberry Promotions first card they have solely promoted in 2024. Frank Warren’s promotion have been busy in Saudi Arabia orchestrating Fury vs Usyk and Joshua vs Ngannou, and Sheeraz vs Williams is their first non PPV show of the year.
Sheeraz vs Williams was initially scheduled for 2023, until Sheeraz was forced to withdraw through injury. Williams competed against a late-notice opponent successfully as Sheeraz healed.
Hamzah Sheeraz (18-0) enters the contest unbeaten against the more experienced Liam Williams (25-4-1). Williams has competed at world title level and against Chris Eubank Jr unsuccessfully, and makes a good litmus test for Hamzah Sheeraz.
Both Sheeraz and Williams are ranked in the WBO top 15, and a win would put either man on course for Janibek later down the line.
Two titles are being contested between Hamzah Sheeraz and Liam Williams. Sheeraz is defending his WBC Silver Middleweight title as well as his Commonwealth Boxing Council Middleweight title.
The Hamzah Sheeraz undercard includes a mixture of the Queensberry stable of fighters. Many of the opposition remains TBA, but Anthony Yarde and Pierce O’Leary are included on the bill.
The marquee matchup on the undercard is Sam Noakes vs Lewis Slyvester for the British and Commonwealth titles.
British Light Heavyweight world championship challenger Anthony Yarde continues to rebuild following his 2023 loss to Artur Beterbiev. Yarde and challenges Marko Nikolic.
Moses Itauma’s elder brother Karol Itauma also competes on the Queensberry card.
