Sebastian Fundora vs Errol Spence set for World Title

Sebastian Fundora secured a shock victory over Tim Tszyu on PBC’s first PPV with Amazon Prime. Sebastian Fundora vs Errol Spence looks set to happen next after Spence called out the champion after the bout.

Fundora was initially set for the undercard of Keith Thurman vs Tim Tszyu, but an injury to Thurman forced a reshuffle of the card. Fundora then moved into the main event on short-notice to challenge Tim Tszyu for the WBO and WBC World championships.

Sebastian Fundora emerged victorious via Split Decision, with Tszyu suffering a massive cut in round 2 that impacted him for the rest of the fight. Tszyu arguably should have withdrawn from the bout to save his championship, but continued to fight on despite the cut limiting his vision.

Immediately after the fight, the former Unified Welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr. entered the ring to challenge Fundora. Spence hasn’t competed since his loss to Terence Crawford in July last year and has no victories since April 2022. Fundora accepted the challenge and it appears Tim Tszyu will not get a rematch as his next contest.

Both Errol Spence Jr and Terence Crawford reacted to the Sebastian Fundora vs Errol Spence plans on social media. Crawford doesn’t feel Spence has merited his shot for the World championships, but Spence showed no qualms about challenging for the Unified titles.
