Oscar Collazo vs Gerardo Zapata headlines a Golden Boy Fight Night card from New York for the WBO World Minimumweight title. The Friday Fight Night also features 22 year-old American Super Lightweight Bryce Mills vs Jose Marruffo.
New Jersey’s Oscar Collazo (9-0) makes the third defence of his WBO World title as he competes for the second time this year. Collazo scored a TKO back in January over Reyneris Gutierrez, and has scored 7 KO’s in his 9 victories.
27 year-old Collazo has picked up four consecutive stoppage victories and hasn’t looked troubled at the highest level, although he suffered a knockdown back in 2022.
Gerado Zapata (14-1-1) arrives having failed to secure a victory in his last two bouts. Zapata picked up a Split Draw against Azael Villar last year, and suffered his only loss via DQ back in 2022 against Rene Santiago.
Zapata hasn’t been defeated on Points or via KO and fights in America for the first time.
