Norair Mikaelian pulls out of WBC Cruiserweight title defence

Norair Mikaelian had been set to face Ryan Rozicki on a Don King show in June but the bout has now been postponed.

Mikaelian (27-2-0) suffered an injury to his right eyelid according to the WBC. The injury occurred in training camp and the bout is expected to be rescheduled at a later date.

The Armenian Cruiserweight captured his championship last November when he knocked out Illunga Makabu in Miami. His bout against Canadian Ryan Rozicki (20-1) was expected to be his first championship defence.

It is currently unknown whether Ryan Rozicki will opt to take a bout in the interim. The card is still expected to go ahead and includes Adrian Broner vs Blair Cobbs, if Broner shows up.
