Mikaelian vs Makabu WBC Cruiserweight title Results

Don King Promotions returned for another card on 04 November 2023, topped by a main event for the WBC Cruiserweight title Mikaelian vs Makabu. The card took place from the Casino Miami Jai Alai in Florida and was available exclusively on PPV.

Noel Mikaelian captured the vacant WBC Cruiserweight championship as he defeated Junior Makabu in the third round via TKO. Mikaelian carried far more power than Makabu and was able to hurt and knockdown his opponent in the second round. Makabu barely surived the round. The third and final round saw more of the same, as Mikaelian sent Makabu to the canvas for a second time. Mikaelian was quickly to his feet but looked disorientated, and the bout was quickly waved off.

The commentators complained it was a premature stoppage, but Mikaelian was dangerous and Makabu seemingly had no way to handle the power.

Noel Mikaelian wins via round 3 TKO.

Elsewhere on the undercard, Trevor Bryan suffered a heavy KO that resulted in him leaving on a stretcher. The American heavyweight and former opponent of Daniel Dubois was knocked down twice against Cassius Chaney. The second knockdown came from a short right hook, and Bryan was left in an unknown medical condition following the conclusion of the contest.

Cassius Chaney wins via KO round 7.

Elsewhere on the rest of the undercard:

Jonathan Guidry vs Jesus Escalera – Guidry KO round 2.

Alexander Castro vs Hector Esnar Bobadilla – Castro TKO round 3.

Isaiah Riquelmy vs Rondale Hubbert – Riquelmy via points and Unanimous Decision.
