Mahmoud Charr vs Kubrat Pulev headlines a night of action from Bulgaria live on DAZN. Charr and Pulev will fight for the WBA Regular Heavyweight title, with the winner going on to face the WBA Heavyweight champion at a later date. The card then underwent a change following an injury to Mahmoud Charr, and Pulev will now face a new opponent.
Mahmoud Charr vs Kubrat Pulev
Mahmoud Charr (34-4) is defending his WBA crown he won in 2019. Charr defeated Aleksandr Ustinov to capture the title back in 2017, but never defended the belt.
Charr was stripped of the title in 2021 following inactivity, but was re-awarded the championship in 2023. He was set to face Jarrell Miller, but that fell through and Pulev was selected instead.
Bulgarian Kubrat Pulev (30-3) has competed unsuccessfully for the Unified Heavyweight titles against Anthony Joshua and Vitali Klitschko.
Pulev lost to Joshua in 2020. He rebuilt with a victory over Jerry Forrest but was defeated in 2022 by Derek Chisora in a tight-affair. Pulev last fought in December with a wide Unanimous Decision over Andrezj Wawryzk.
Kubrat Pulev will be competing in his home country for the first time since 2018.
Mahmoud Charr pulled out of the contest with a shoulder injury, and has been replaced by Ihor Shevadzutskyi (11-1). The Ukranian Heavyweight’s only loss came against Martin Bakole via TKO last year.

Tervel Pulev vs Rolly Lambert Fogoum is the only other named bout. Tervel Pulev is a former Olympic Bronze medallist and brother of Kubrat Pulev. Tervel Pulev (18-1) sole loss came against Sergey Kovalev. Pulev will compete at Cruiserweight against Cameroonian Rolly Lambert Fogoum (16-2-1).
