Liam Cameron Set for Next Bout at Magna

Former Commonwealth Middleweight champion Liam Cameron has confirmed his next bout. Cannonball Cameron is set to appear next in Rotherham on April 12 for 26 RR Promotions. The undefeated former champion returned to the sport in 2023 and is targeting a British title in 2024.

33-year-old Liam Cameron recently served a 4 year anti-doping ban and returned to the ring back in 2023 following a 5 and a half year absence. Cannonball was suspended in 2019 for a non-performance enhancing substance and his suspension cost him both his Commonwealth title and IBF World number 11 ranking.

Cameron competed on GBM Sports show back in August 2023, narrowly outpointing Robbie Connor in the final bout on the card. Cameron returned at Cruiserweight as he continued to shed weight and target moving down the weight divisions.

Liam Cameron’s next bout came when GBM Sports returned to Sheffield in February. Cameron again appeared in the final bout of the show, this time dispatching journeyman Harry Matthews within a round. Cameron fought at Light Heavyweight on this occasion.

It was hoped Cameron would appear on his Steel City Gym stablemate Dalton Smith’s upcoming show in Sheffield in March, but Smith’s promoter Matchroom Boxing had other ideas.

Liam Cameron’s next opponent is TBA. Tickets for the 26 RR Promotions show at Magna range from £50-100.

The rest of the card includes Garside vs Harrison for the Central Area Welterweight title. Ebonie Jones is in action for the first since withdrawing from an English title contest against Stevi Levy.
