Unbeaten Olympian Karris Artingstall is set to challenge for her first belt against Sheila Martinez. Martinez vs Artingstall will be contested for the EBU European Featherweight championship.
29-year-old Karriss Artingstall (6-0) is coming off a narrow victory to Lila Furtado earlier in January. Artingstall won an 8 round contest by 2 points on the undercard to Jonas vs Mayer. Artingstall turned pro in 2022 with two victories, and added 3 more in 2023. She picked her first and only KO when she stopped Vanessa Bradford, knocking her down twice in the process.
Macclesfield-born Artingstall will face Sheila Martinez. Martinez (7-3) is a Spanish boxer on a six fight winstreak. She picked up 3 losses via Unanimous Decision early in her career but has turned a corner and now successfully defended the EBU championship twice. The 25-year-old doesn’t have the Olympic pedigree of Artingstall though.
Martinez vs Artingstall is set for purse bids, with a date TBC once agreed. The bout is likely to air on Sky Sports who have aired all of Artinstall’s previous professional bouts.
