Joseph Diaz vs Jesus Perez Start Time and Undercard

Golden Boy promotions have announced their third card for 2024 featuring Joseph Diaz vs Jesus Perez. The Golden Boy Fight Night follows on from their two cards in January; Ortiz vs Lawson and Munguia vs Ryder.

Joseph JoJo Diaz Jr (33-4-1) is an American Lightweight who previously held the IBF World Super Featherweight title. Diaz Jr was stripped after failing to make weight against Shavkatdzhon Rakhimov, although he didn’t lose and secured a Majority Draw.

Joseph Diaz Jr moved up to Lightweight and unsuccessfully challenged Devin Haney in 2021 for the WBC Lightweight title. That started a 3 fight losing streak for Diaz Jr, although he picked up a win in his last contest against Jerry Perez in July 2023.

Jesus ‘Ricky Perez’ (24-5) is moving down in weight from Welterweight to challenges Diaz Jr. Perez is on a two fight losing streak since returning to boxing from a near 4 year layoff. This included defeat against Alexis Rocha for the WBO NABO championship in his comeback match, as well as defeat to Brian Norman Jr in May 2023.

Diaz Jr vs Jesus Perez should massively favour the A-side fighter, and JoJo Diaz will enter as a heavy favourite.
