Jack Bateson secures hometown victory in Leeds

Jack Bateson competed for the first time in 2024 where he secured a victory in the main event. Bateson again fought out of his hometown of Leeds with the card airing live on Boxing Now.

Jack Bateson (19-1) faced off against experienced journeyman Darwing Martinez (8-18-2) in a six-round main event contest. Bateson was made to work hard against aggressive opposition but ultimately picked up a Points Decision 58-56.

British Super Featherweight Jack Bateson had been inactive following his first defeat in 2022. Bateson lost via TKO to Shabaz Masoud, but both fighters remained inactive after the bout. Bateson returned in November 2023 with a TKO victory over Ruslan Berchuk.

Elsewhere on the card, Liam Taylor (26-2-1) made short work of Sam O’Maison (18-6-1). Taylor had O’Maison on the canvas after 45 seconds and the bout was never competitive. O’Maison survived the round but retired before the start of the second round.

Unbeaten Josh Padley (13-0) picked up a TKO victory over Conner Lee Doherty (5-2).

Jack Power debuted and brought a lot of crowd support. He was successful and defeated Vasif Mamedov (3-47-5) via Points over 4 rounds.
