Jack Bateson Return to the Ring Confirmed

The return of Jack Bateson to the ring has been confirmed. Bateson (17-1) last fought in November 2022 on the undercard of Sunny Edwards vs Felix Alvarado where he contested 12 rounds against Shabaz Masoud. Bateson was knocked down twice and stopped in the 12th round, suffering the first defeat of his career. Since then both Bateson and Masoud have failed to compete, although Masoud was recently announced as the headliner for Matchroom Boxing’s NXTGEN show emanating from Newcastle.

Disrupt Promotions have finally announced the next bout for Bateson. He will compete at Leeds United Football Club’s Banqueting Suite on Friday 24 November 2023. Bateson has competed more at the Banqueting Suite than anywhere else in his career, and is returning to his home turf. His opponent is TBA.

Bateson is a former WBA Inter-Continental and English Super Bantamweight champion, and a return to activity is needed following the loss to Masoud.

Also competing on the card is unbeaten Josh Padley (11-0) vs Clayton Bricknell (4-8-1) in a lightweight contest, and Francis Gorman (1-0) vs TBA.
