Professional boxer Hasim Rahman Jr (12-2) appeared in the main event of influencer promotion Hype Boxing on Saturday night. Rahman was scheduled to face a mystery opponent at Heavyweight. The Hasim Rahman Hype Punch event failed to live up to the billing though with problems marring the event.
Hype Punch had problems sourcing an opponent for Hasim Rahman Jr. were problems sourcing an opponent for Rahman Jr. revealed on social media 7 different opponents pulled out of the contest, including one on fight night. The promotion were able to provide another opponent at short notice.
Rahman Jr. faced a Kanye West impersonator in the main event. The West impersonator donned a t-shirt and stepped into the ring against the son of former Heavyweight champion Hasim Rahman.
The impersonator failed to follow the words of his Ye, and didn’t get any Stronger as Rahman bagged a quick KO from a simple body shot.
The problems with the event also stemmed to streaming issues, resulting in promoters Hype Punch offering refunds.
Hasim Rahman last competed professionally at the end of 2022. Following back-to-back defeats he began fighting in Team Combat League and competing in influencer boxing events. Rahman was scheduled to face Jake Paul several years ago but the bout was cancelled following issues with the weight.
