On Friday 01 December 2023, Wasserman Boxing return to Channel Five from Bolton with a card headlined by Gorman vs Myronets. Nathan Gorman is returning to action since his defeat to current British Heavyweight champion Fabio Wardley, and steps up to the headline slot after Lee McGregor withdrew from the card. Chloe Watson features in the Chief Support.
Isaac Lowe vs Lee McGregor had been the intended headliner for the card in Bolton, but Lee McGregor has withdrawn through injury and the bout is expected to be rescheduled in 2024. Lowe has opted to remain active and stay on the card, facing off against Rodrigo.
Isaac Lowe previously fought on the undercard of McGregor vs Ayala, picking up a TKO victory over Erik Robles Ayala. Lowe has won his last two bouts, but he hasn’t fought anyone competitive since losing being stopped against both Luis Alberto Lopez and Nick Ball in back-to-back losses.
Nathan Gorman has been quiet since his defeat to Fabio Wardley last year, who went on to defeat David Adeleye as the Chief Support to Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou. It was Gorman’s second failed attempt for the British title, having also lost to Daniel Dubois, and the rebuilding job begins again in Bolton.
Gorman’s choice of opposition is interesting. Myronets gained some credibility when he dismantled out of shape Kash Ali on the undercard of McGregor vs Ayala, having been brought in as fodder for the heavyweight. Myronets doesn’t boast an impressive record at 7-1, but only has a 6 round points loss to his name, and should be game opposition for Gorman.
Unbeaten Chloe Watson is taking a step up in class as she challenges for her first championship against Justine Lallemand, who is attempting to win the belt at the second attempt. Lallemand lost a Split Decision to Martina Bernile in November 2022, but won an 8 rounder back in May. Watson has already scored two points victories in 2023, and with no knockouts in her six victories will likely target a third points victory.
