Devin Haney to make Ryan Garcia Retire if he wins inside 3 minutes

Devin Haney vs Ryan Garcia held a press conference to promote their upcoming DAZN PPV bout. The pair are set to meet in April and a stipulation has been agreed that could see Ryan Garcia retire.

During a wild press conference to promote the fight, father of Devin Haney Bill Haney asked Ryan Garcia:
“If you get knocked out during the first round, will you retire”?

Ryan responded by shaking both Devin and Bill’s hands and agreeing to the terms. Ryan Garcia has only one defeat on his record via a stoppage loss to Gervonta Tank Davis, but he was dropped by Luke Campbell in round 2 of their contest.

Devin Haney isn’t regarded as any kind of power puncher. The Dream is unbeaten but rarely puts his opponents on the canvas. Haney did drop Regis Prograis in the third round of their December match but he outclassed his opponent without threatening a stoppage. Haney hasn’t knocked down opposition prior to Prograis since 2019, and his last stoppage victory came before he was World champion.

It seems unlikely Ryan Garcia will be forced to retire following a first round stoppage by Devin Haney, but stranger things have happened in boxing.

Who wins between Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney on 20 April 2024? Will Ryan Garcia retire after facing Haney? Or will Devin Haney taste defeat for the first time?
