Connor Coghill Suffers Brain Bleed Following Hopey Price Bout

Sad news emerged on social media earlier today regarding Connor Coghill. Connor Coghill competed on the undercard of Leigh Wood vs Josh Warrington, where he faced off against Hopey Price. The action was hard-hitting throughout, and the contest ended via TKO as Coghill was stopped in the 12 and final round, having been knocked down 4 times throughout the course of the bout. It was Coghill first professional defeat.

It has now emerged today via a statement from Stefy Bull that Connor Coghill has suffered medical complications since the bout, suffering from headaches leading to a scan on his brain. The brain scan revealed a bleed suffered on Connor’s brain. Connor is currently resting and stable, as detailed in the statement below.

The statement in full from Stefy Bull reads:

We are saddened to confirm Connor is currently in hospital under observation after a scan has discovered a bleed on his brain. Connor has had headaches since his boxing contest last week in Sheffield. Obviously it’s devastating news for Connor as boxing has been his life since a young age. He’s stable and resting and wanting people to respect his time during this difficult period. Everyone at Stefy Bull Promotions are praying for a full recovery and wish him good health.
