Chantelle Cameron vs Katie Taylor 2 Start Time and Preview

CAMERON VS TAYLOR 2 LIVE ON: Saturday 25 November 2023

WHO IS BOXING?

Returning to Dublin, live from the 3 Arena on 25 November 2023, Chantelle Cameron (18-0) takes on Katie Taylor (22-1) in a rematch of their much acclaimed bout from 20 May 2023.

Cameron picked up a Majority Decision against Taylor in the first contest, with Katie Taylor starting slow and never led the fight as a result.

CAMERON VS TAYLOR 2 THE BUILD-UP

There was some debate as to what weight would be used. Taylor enacted her rematch clause which saw a repeat of the original terms, that Taylor would step up in weight and challenge Cameron for her Undisputed Super Lightweight Championships. Cameron was aggrieved at this as she wanted to drop down in weight and challenge Katie Taylor for her Undisputed Lightweight Championships.

WHO IS THE FAVOURITE FOR CAMERON VS TAYLOR 2?

Chantelle Cameron should be considered the favourite heading into the contest. She did well to secure a judges decision, albeit majority, on away soil, and she has to feel confident of doing it again.

For Taylor, there were question marks as to whether the occasion of returning to Ireland got to her. She was competing in Ireland for the first time as a professional, and had a long, long ring walk that certainly impacted her performance.

WHO ELSE IS FIGHTING ON THE CAMERON VS TAYLOR 2 UNDERCARD?

Paddy Donovan vs Danny Ball
Gary Cully vs Reece Mould

John Coonie vs Liam Gaynor
Emmet Brennan vs Jamie Morrissey
Zelfa Barrett vs Constin Ion
Thomas Carty vs Dan Garber
Giorgio Visioli vs Lee Sibley

ANY HIGHLIGHTS ON THE CAMERON VS TAYLOR 2 UNDERCARD?

Gary Cully is making his comeback following his first defeat on the Taylor vs Cameron 1 card against Jose Felix. Cully vs Mould looks a mismatch on paper, as Mould has fought at Featherweight and has a massive size disadvantage against Cully. Mould was due to headline the GBM show on 06 October against Martin McDonagh, but the bout was pulled on the day of the event, with no alternative opponent available.

Zelfa Barrett appearing on Before the Bell is a bonus, although Constin Ion stands little chance against a former world title challenger. Ion dropped Aqib Fiaz back in May during a Points Decision loss, but I wouldn’t expect him to threaten Barrett.

Skye Nicolson is the heavy favourite entering her bout against another former world title challenger in Lucy Wildheart, and I’d expect her to pick up a Points Decision and remain undefeated.
