Arslanbek Makhmudov vs Miljan Rovcanin set for Quebec

Russian-born Canadian Heavyweight Arslanbek Makhmudov receives a new opponent after initially being scheduled to face Junior Fa. Arslanbek Makhmudov vs Miljan Rovcanin will feature on a Top Rank undercard later this month.

Arslanbek Makhmudov vs Miljan Rovcanin has been scheduled after Makmudov’s original opponent Junior Fa chose to retire. Fa failed to report to training camp and opted to retire rather than go ahead with the bout. More on that story here.

Makhmudov’s opponent is Serbian Miljan Rovcanin (27-3). Rovcanin arrives with three consecutive victories over fighters with negative records, all basically journeyman. His last major bout saw him KO’d by Jared Anderson in round 2. He also lost by TKO to Agit Kabayel back in 2018.

Arslanbek Makhmudov (18-1) is returning to the ring after losing last time out at Day of Reckoning. Makmudov performed poorly against Agit Kabayel, being knocked down three times and TKO’d by round 4 after gassing against the fleet-footed German. He looks to impress in Canada to move back into the Saudi Arabian Heavyweight scene.

Arslanbek Makhmudov vs Miljan Rovcanin features on the Christian Mbilli vs Mark Heffron Top Rank card. Read a preview of the show here.
