Archie Sharp Wins on Return to the Ring

WBO ranked number 3 Super Featherweight Archie Sharp returned to the ring on Friday night. Sharp competed on the undercard of TM14 Promotions card held at York Hall in London.

The former WBO ranked number 1 Archie Sharp (23-0) competed in an 8 round contest against Victor Julio (16-9). Sharp started a little slowly but but controlled the bout from the second round onwards, and eased his way to a dominant points victory.

After the bout Sharp spoke of his plans for 2024 alongside his promoter Mark Prior. Archie Sharp said he was targeting a world title shot in 2024, with the current WBO holder being Emmanuel Navarette. Sharp’s promoter Mark Prior spoke of some good potential domestic match-ups, including Jordan Gill who recently defeated Michael Conlan.

28 year old Archie Sharp still holds the WBO Global Super Featherweight title, but hasn’t defended the title since October 2021. Sharp’s previous three bouts against Alex Rat, Mauro Perouene and Victor Julio haven’t been contested for the title.
