Adrian Curiel vs Sivenathi Nontshinga Start Time & Undercard

Adrian Curiel vs Sivenathi Nontshinga headlines a night of boxing in Mexico on Friday 16 February 2024 for the IBF World Light Flyweight title. Matchroom Boxing have made the rematch of Nontshinga vs Curiel after Adrian Curiel scored a stunning KO the first time around.

The bout is a rematch of the shocking contest in 2023, when Curiel easily defeated the previously unbeaten Sivenathi Nontshinga via KO in round 2. This was part of Matchroom Boxing’s annual Monte Carlo card in Monaco, and was part of the undercard to Cordina vs Vasquez. Matchroom Boxing have now moved the rematch to Mexico in Oaxaca.

Adrian Curiel is likely to enter the rematch as an underdog despite being the champion, although he has already demonstrated knockout power.

Recently dethroned IBF World Flyweight champion Sunny Edwards has expressed an interest in facing the winner of the contest.

Mauricio Lara returns to action since his defeat to Leigh Wood last year. Lara defeated Leigh Wood in their first bout, but lost the rematch and failed to make weight for the fight. Lara’s next opponent is Daniel Lugo (27-2).
