Newly crowned British and Commonwealth Super Middleweight champion Zak Chelli is set to defend his newly won titles against Callum Simpson.
Zak Chelli captured both of his championships last weekend when he defeated Jack Cullen in a rematch on the undercard of Natasha Jonas vs Mikaela Mayer. The pair had previously met in 2020 with the result declared a Split Draw.
As a condition of the Jack Cullen vs Zak Chelli bout, the BBBofC ordered that the winner face waive their grace period and face Callum Simpson as their next opponent. The date is yet to be announced but Chelli vs Simpson is likely to feature on an upcoming Boxxer and Sky Sports show.
Callum Simpson (13-0) is yet to compete in 2024, having racked up 3 victories in 2023. The Barnsley fighter currently has no fight date scheduled. Chelli vs Simpson will be the first championship bout of Callum Simpson’s career.
