Which British Heavyweight boxers are currently ranked by the WBC?

The World Boxing Council (WBC) have released their latest rankings for February across all weight divisions. We’ll take a look at which British Heavyweight boxers have made it into the top 40, and those currently excluded by the WBC.

Anthony Joshua is currently the number 1 ranked Heavyweight following his recent victory over Robert Helenius at Day of Reckoning. Joshua is next in action when he faces WBC ranked #10 Francis Ngannou (0-1) in Saudi Arabia next month.

Daniel Dubois is the second highest ranked Brit, featuring at #7. Dubois lost to Oleksandr Usyk but bounced back with a stoppage victory over Jarrell Miller at Day of Reckoning. He has no contest currently scheduled, although IBF ranked #1 Filip Hrgovic has been mentioned as a possibility.

Congolese/Brit Martin Bakole is included at number 11. Bakole last fought on the undercard of Fury vs Ngannou where he stopped Carlos Takam. He has no bout currently scheduled, although he has the option of a WBA Regular Eliminator contest against American Cassius Chaney. Victory would put him in line for a WBA title shot, and this was the route previously taken by Daniel Dubois.

Joe Joyce features next at number 12. The former WBO interim World Heavyweight champion lost twice to Zhilei Zhang in 2023. He is set for action in March when he features on the Magnificent Seven card against Kash Ali.

Unbeaten British and Commonwealth champion Fabio Wardley is included at number 15. Wardley stopped David Adeleye on the undercard of Fury Ngannou. He is set to meet unbeaten Olympian Frazer Clarke at the end of March. Wardley will likely vacate and look to climb the rankings if he is successful.

Derek Chisora is included at number 20. Chisora last fought on the undercard of Joshua vs Helenius where he picked up a points victory over Abraham Washington. The veteran has expressed a desire for 3 more fights, taking his total to 50. He has no bout currently scheduled.

Frazer Clarke is the WBC ranked number 25 Heavyweight. Clarke picked up his biggest victory when he forced Dave Allen to retire, and meets #15 Wardley next month.

Other British Heavyweight boxers including Dillian Whyte, David Adeleye, Solomon Dacres, Johnny Fisher and Moses Itauma are not ranked.

The WBC Heavyweight champion is next in action when he faces Oleksandr Usyk for the Undisputed Heavyweight title. Fury vs Usyk has been rescheduled to 18 May 2024. Read more on the bout below.
