Nathan Heaney vs Brad Pauls Magnificent Seven Undercard, Preview and Start Time Preview

Frank Warren’s Queensberry Promotions returns with another edition of their Magnificent Seven show, this time featuring 7 championships being defended across 5 bouts. Nathan Heaney vs Brad Pauls II headlines the card in Birmingham.

Liam Davies vs Shabaz Masoud

The original headliner of the show was scheduled to be Davies vs Masoud.

IBO World champion Liam Davies (16-0) faces unbeaten challenger Shabaz Masoud (12-0). Davies captured the title from Erik Robles in simple fashion with a second-round TKO back in March. Davies has scored three consecutive stoppage victories and hasn’t really been challenged since he faced Baluta and Marc Leach back in 2022.

Shabaz Masoud scored a TKO over unbeaten Jack Bateson back in 2022 but his career failed to kick on. Masoud signed with Matchroom Boxing but pulled out of his first fight during fight week with health issues.

Masoud eventually fought for the brand at NXTGEN Newcastle where he scored an underwhelming Split Decision over Jose Sanmartin, his only appearance on a Matchroom show so far.

Liam Davies withdrew from the bout having suffered pneumonia in the lead-up to the fight. Davies’ promoter Frank Warren confirmed Davies had recovered but wasn’t able to complete a full training camp. The bout is set to be rescheduled later this year.

Nathan Heaney vs Brad Pauls

Nathan Heaney (18-0-1) and Brad Pauls (18-1-1) will meet for the second time following a Split Draw in their first contest earlier this year. Heaney had been expected to move on with rumours of a possible World title challenge, but returns to Magnificent Seven in a rematch.

Heaney needs a victory if he wants to bring a major fight to his hometown of Stoke.
