Frank Warren has confirmed his interest in making Joshua Buatsi vs Anthony Yarde. Buatsi and Yarde spoke after Yarde picked up a routine victory over Marko Nikolic.
Anthony Yarde picked up three knockdowns as he stopped Marko Nikolic on the undercard of Sheeraz Williams.
Joshua Buatsi joined Anthony Yarde’s post-fight interview and respectfully expressed his interest in making the contest. “I’m here because I’m interested in the fight”.
Yarde agreed and indicated he would like a world title involved if possible, but he will take the fight either way.
Queensberry promoter Frank Warren expressed his interest in making the fight. He went as far as to say “We’ll deliver it”. Steve Bunce questioned whether Joshua Buatsi vs Anthony Yarde could be held outdoors at a football stadium, but Frank Warren would not be drawn on the issue.
Joshua Buatsi is currently promoted by Boxxer on rival sports channel Sky Sports, so it remains to be seen whether a deal can be made. Buatsi currently holds the WBA number 1 ranking, and is due a title shot following Beterbiev vs Bivol later this June.
Whether Buatsi vs Yarde appears on TNT Sports as Frank Warren hopes, or whether Boxxer can tempt Queensberry to make a deal with Sky Sports remains to be seen.
