Matchroom Boxing have announced Ishmael Davis vs Troy Williamson as the latest addition to their upcoming Sheffield show. Davis vs Williamson will appear on the undercard of Dalton Smith vs Jose Zepeda on Saturday 23 March 2024.
Matchroom have already announced four bouts for the card. Aside from the main event of Smith vs Zepeda, Sandy Ryan vs Terri Harper has been announced for the WBO Welterweight title. Campbell Hatton also challenges for his first championship when he faces James Flint.
Ishmael Davis (12-0) is a British Super Welterweight with 6 KO’s on his record. Davis fought twice in 2023, picking up a TKO victory over Ewan Mackenzie at Matchroom Boxing’s NXTGEN Newcastle show. Davis has fought at Sheffield’s Utilita Arena once before, picking up a win on the undercard of Sunny Edwards vs Felix Alvarado.
Darlington born Troy Williamson (20-2-1) is rebuilding after losing two of his last three fights. Williamson was undefeated until he faced Josh Kelly and suffered a ruthless loss. Kelly’s Olympic pedigree shone through and Williamson was outclassed. Trojan Troy Williamson got back to winning ways with a 6 rounder against Ramiro Blanco in Newcastle. Williamson’s second defeat came soon after.
Williamson most recent action was against in Northern Ireland on the Conlan vs GIll undercard. Troy WIlliamson lost a Split Decision to Caoimhin Agyarko, his second in 365 days. The former British Super Welterweight champion will look to bounce back to winning ways when he faces Ishmael Davis.
