DAZN have now confirmed Haney vs Garcia will be a PPV in both the UK and US. The Golden Boy Promotions show takes place later this month on 20th April 2024 from New York.
DAZN subscribers in the UK will not be receiving the fight as part of their regular subscription and the show will cost £19.99. In the US, DAZN subscribers will be able to purchase the event for $69.99, or $79.99 without a subscription. PPV.com are also broadcasting the show for $79.99.
There had been hopes Haney vs Garcia would be a regular fight night in the UK. Ryan Garcia vs Oscar Duarte and Ryan Garcia vs Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis were both included in a standard subscription. Devin Haney’s recent bouts against Vasily Lomachenko and Regis Prograis were also standard fight nights. Haney vs Garcia being on PPV in the UK is new territory for both fighters and marks a change in strategy from DAZN.
The PPV price for Haney vs Garcia also eclipses PBC’s recent offering of Tszyu vs Fundora. That bout aired exclusively on TrillerTV outside of the USA, but the price point was lower at $19.99, roughly £4.20 cheaper.
