Frank Warren planning Mega Show in Birmingham

Queensberry Promotions Frank Warren is currently in the process of formalising his mega show in Birmingham.

The bill is set to rival the Magnificent Seven show that took place last year, which was arguably the best UK show of the year. The previous show included Nick Ball vs Isaac Dogboe, Denzel Bentley vs Nathan Heaney and further title bouts across the card.

The card is set for 16 March 2024 in Birmingham and is set to follow a similar theme of multiple title bouts. The mooted card for Queensberry Promotions Birmingham show made its way across social media and is included below:

Nathan Heaney vs Brad Pauls
Liam Davies vs Erik Robles Ayala
Joe Joyce vs Kash Ali
Sol Dacres vs David Adeleye
Dennis McCann vs Brad Strand
Zach Parker vs Tyron Zeuge
Eithan James vs Owen Cooper

The Magnificent 7 Ride Again

There are several notable names included on the bill. British Olympian Joe Joyce is returning to action following two losses to Zhilei Zhang in 2024. Joyce’s opponent is Kash Ali, who lost to Bogdan Myronets on Channel 5 last year. Kash Ali also infamously bit David Price resulting in a DQ back in 2019, his only other loss.

A second heavyweight bout will feature the English champion Sol Dacres defending his title against David Adeleye. Adeleye lost to British champion Fabio Wardley on the undercard of Fury vs Ngannou, whereas Dacres is unbeaten but untested at this level. Moses Itauma had been made mandatory challenger to Solomon Dacres, so it is interesting he is not the chosen opponent.

David Adeleye knocked down by Fabio Wardley.

Nathan Heaney is set for a British title defence and Liam Davies will defend his European title. Zach Parker makes an appearance still rebuilding from his surprise defeat to John Ryder after breaking his hand earlier in 2023. Dennis McCann also returns to action following a draw against Ionut Baluta, the first blemish on his career. Ionut Baluta doesn’t feature on the card despite being part of the Queensberry roster.

The addition of Queensberry’s second show to the UK calendar is welcome news for UK boxing fans. Some fans had been critical of Queensberry’s focus on Saudi Arabian shows, particularly when they are now featuring domestic bouts on a regular basis. This show will follow Queensberry’s only announced UK show in 2024 of Sheeraz vs Williams in February.
