The pair met in a 12 round war to main event Fightzone’s show in Liverpool, broadcast on DAZN for the first time. Connor Butler (11-0-1) entered as the hometown fighter from Liverpool with an undefeated record. His opponent was the more experienced Welshman Jay Harris (20-3).

Both Butler and Harris engaged for the full twelve rounds, happy to trade and keeping the fight entertaining. Connor Butler started the contest strongly and did enough to shade the opening rounds. Harris wasn’t far behind and he was able to outwork his opponent as the rounds wore on. Butler was able to keep pace but didn’t have the experience or the strength of Harris, who continued to pick up rounds. Butler gave everything he had in the final few rounds and probably did enough to win them, but it was too little too late to secure a victory.

After 12 rounds, the Butler vs Harris scorecards read:

116-112, 116-112, 116-113 in favour of Jay Harris via Unanimous Decision.
