Boxing legend Manny Pacquiao could be set to make a historic debut in the United Kingdom after promoter Eddie Hearn confirmed that negotiations are at an advanced stage to place the 47-year-old icon on the undercard of the mega-fight between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium on 11 December.
The proposed co-feature would see Pacquiao share the ring with Cardiff-born former super-featherweight world champion Joe Cordina. Hearn revealed that terms have already been finalized from his camp’s perspective, though the fight remains pending final confirmation from Pacquiao’s team.
Speaking at a media event on Thursday, Hearn offered a candid update regarding the progress of the high-profile negotiations. While acknowledging that a deal is not yet fully sealed, he made it clear that Cordina and his representation have accepted the conditions required to land the dream matchup.
"We’ve agreed terms to face Pacquiao, but we don’t know if it’s happening," Hearn revealed during Thursday’s media session. "From our side, we’ve agreed to do it."
The potential inclusion of Pacquiao would add unprecedented international prestige to an event that has already captured the imagination of the sporting public. The main event, an all-British heavyweight clash between Fury and Joshua on 11 December, demonstrated its remarkable popularity when tickets for the Principality Stadium event sold out in just one hour.
