Former UFC Heavyweight Jairzinho Rozenstruik Signs with Fight Nation Championship for Feb. 6 Return

Jairzinho Rozenstruik has officially signed an exclusive promotional agreement with the Fight Nation Championship, marking a major new chapter in the veteran heavyweight’s storied combat sports career. The organization made the announcement on Tuesday, revealing that the former Ultimate Fighting Championship standout is scheduled to make his promotional debut early next year.

According to the announcement, Rozenstruik will step into the FNC cage at FNC 37, which is set to take place on February 6, 2027, in Munich, Germany. As the promotion prepares for its upcoming European showcase, no opponent has yet been officially named for the dynamic striker affectionately known as "Bigi Boy." The upcoming bout will serve as a centerpiece attraction for the card, drawing significant international attention to the European-based organization as it continues to expand its roster with elite global talent.

For Rozenstruik, the upcoming appearance represents a highly anticipated return to mixed martial arts competition. The bout will officially break a two-year absence from the sport for the 38-year-old powerhouse, whose last traditional MMA contest took place in early 2025.

Rozenstruik parted ways with the Ultimate Fighting Championship in February 2025 following a unanimous decision loss to top-tier contender Sergei Pavlovich. That conclusion brought a close to a notable and lengthy run under the UFC banner, where Rozenstruik established himself as one of the heavyweight division’s most dangerous and feared knockout artists.

During his tenure with the world’s premier MMA promotion, the native of Suriname compiled an impressive resume filled with high-profile victories against some of the most recognizable names in the sport. His promotional highlight reel features a series of devastating finishes and tactical wins over elite competition, including notable victories against powerhouse Tai Tuivasa, surging contender Shamil Gaziev, and legendary former heavyweight champions Junior dos Santos, Alistair Overeem, and Andrei Arlovski. His ability to turn a fight around with a single, devastating strike made him a staple of the UFC heavyweight rankings for years.

Following his departure from the UFC, Rozenstruik did not remain entirely inactive from combat sports. Seeking new challenges and an opportunity to test his skills in alternative rulesets, he transitioned to the Dirty Boxing Championship. Demonstrating his adaptability and enduring prowess as a striker, Rozenstruik secured two victories under the banner. His impressive run culminated in August 2025 when he captured the promotion’s inaugural heavyweight title, proving that he remained a formidable force in the combat sports landscape outside of traditional MMA.

Now, with his signing to the Fight Nation Championship, Rozenstruik is set to bring his elite striking credentials back to the MMA cage. The move to FNC highlights the organization’s growing ambition to secure established global veterans and deliver high-level matchups to European fight fans. As February 2027 approaches, anticipation will undoubtedly build regarding who will step forward to welcome the former UFC heavyweight standout to the FNC cage in Munich.
