Ryan Garcia vs Oscar Duarte Announced

Ryan Garcia’s return to the ring has been confirmed. Garcia will return to action on 02 December 2023 when he faces off against Oscar Duarte (26-1-1). The card is promoted by Oscar De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions, and will be broadcast live on DAZN. An undercard has yet to be named, and the location remains to be confirmed.

Ryan Garcia last fought back in April when he was stopped be Gervonta Davis with a body shot in the seventh round. Garcia has had a public fallout with Oscar De La Hoya since then, with the relationship appearing to sour in the aftermath of Garcia’s loss to Davis. Garcia publicly accused De La Hoya of a lack of support after the loss, and is likely to move to a new promoter in the near future. For the time being though, he remains under contract with Golden Boy.

Oscar Duarte poses a legitimate threat to Garcia, who already has two stoppage wins in 2023, the last being a destructive performance against D’Angelo Keyes back in May. Duarte’s only loss came fighting for the WBC Continental Americas Lightweight belt in 2019, and he should be a game opponent for Garcia. But the bookmakers appear to think otherwise, with Ryan Garcia a 1/5 favourite for the victory, and Oscar Duarte currently at 7/2 with Paddy Power.
