Buatsi vs Azeez Start Time & Undercard

On 03 February 2024 live from London at the OVO Wembley Arena, Boxxer and Sky Sports present Buatsi vs Azeez in Paths Collide. The original bout was scheduled for 2023, but the all English Light Heavyweight clash is finally set to take place in 2024.

The battle between Joshua Buatsi and Dan Azeez was set for 21 October 2023. Dan Azeez withdrew from the original fight date with an injury, but has now recovered and is ready to compete.

Both Azeez and Buatsi enter the ring as undefeated British Light Heavyweights, and the winner is due a shot at the WBA Light Heavyweight title. The winner will also hold the British and Commonwealth Light Heavyweight titles. Theoretically, Azeez or Buatsi next fight will be against Dimitry Bivol, although he is rumoured to be faced Artur Beterbiev in a Unification bout.

Boxxer Buatsi vs Azeez Paths Collide

Joshua Buatsi (17-0) is now promoted by Boxxer following his decision to leave Matchroom Boxing. The case is currently set for court with Matchroom suing Boxxer over a breach of contract. Buatsi has fought just once since joining Boxxer, a Unanimous Decision over Pawel Stepien. The Ghanian is also seeking to capture the first championships of his career when he faces Azeez.

Dan Azeez (20-0) enters as an underdog against Joshua Buatsi. Azeez recorded 2 victories in 2023, including capturing the EBU European title. He followed that up with a Points Decision victory over Khalid Graidia in Italy, off TV.

Azeez and Buatsi are longtime friends and there’s no heat or beef between them in the build-up to Paths Collide. The pair has attended media together and the exchanges have been respect. Unbeaten Brit Adam Azim defends his EBU European title in the Chief support against fellow unbeaten Super Lightweight Enock Poulsen. Azim captured the belt when he defeated Franck Petitjean last November. A potential bout between Adam Azim vs Dalton Smith could be made later in the year if both fighters win their upcoming bouts.

Danish Enock Poulsen held the EBU championship before. Poulsen was named champion when he defeated Azim’s last opponent Petitjean in 2022. Poulsen was inactive until May 2023, leading to him vacating the belt. He has since returned to activity with 2 wins.

Newly crowned IBO Champion Caroline Dubois is also on the undercard, most likely defending her belt for the first time. The opposition is currently is the American Amanda Reyes.
